My fan motor is dead and I have the new fan to install, but there is no power going to the 2 wires (Yellow & Black) and the fan switch. I read that the "Power Vents" switch needs to be on and it is. Is there a fuse block or inline fuse somewhere for the the gallery blower? someone said it was behind the refrigerator in post. Thanks

Please take some pictures of how you get to the fan to replace and any part numbers you come across.

Mine sounds like a coffee grinder so I was thinking to replace at some point in time.

Thanks

Pull the switch in the galley and see if there is power to that first. I think the only fuse would be in the main panel on the starboard side.

Thanks, I metered the switch and it is good will open the main panel and look behind.

If the switch is working and you have power coming out of the switch when turned on, then it is more than likely the fan motor. Sometimes those motors are internally fused too. I don't think there is a fuse between the switch and the fan motor, however, I have not had mine apart so I'm only speculating.

I am happy to say that the new galley exhaust fan is installed and powered. I finally traced the wire back the yellow wire to where is should be getting power connected to the power vent switch on the DC console (based on wiring diagram), but there was no power to that wire on the galley side. The switch is good and I am using the original ground wire, but tapped into another DC source and installed an inline 7.5 amp fuse right behind the 3 switches in the galley to prevent having to remove the microwave again. BTW there are 2 inline fuses connected to the power vent switch when you open the DC panel. Project complete for now. Interest note: I found 2 large Mud dauber nests in the old motor and on top of the vent grill. I cut out a small piece of plastic gutter screen on the inside when I mounted the new fan and it should be small enough to keep the mud daubers out. Good information from everyone
