My dear brother took a pressure washer to one side of my boat. You would think once he noticed the decals flying, he would have stopped, but NO he blasted the *^&# out of them. SeaRay no longer has the side decals for a 98. Any suggestions next to sinking his tin Geri pontoon boat? My "Ray" was perfect, not a scratch and now the starboard side looks,,, well you can imagine!

Go eBay and do a search of Boat Parts for "Sea Ray decal" and you will get about 100 hits. See if any of those match your boat. If not, you might want to hit a few of them up about making them for you.

Well I will not make any comments regarding your brother as I am certain you have read him the riot act. Also try flounder pounder (fpmarine.com). You may also want to try calling around several Marine Max and other SR stores. Who knows, you just might trip over a set. Your best shot may be trailering the boat to one of the better graphics shops in town and see if they can duplicate the design and colors.

Hope it works out.

I am curious...........why was your brother using a pressure washer on your 230? I cannot think of single good reason other than to knock some slime of hull below the waterlline. As all can see form my signature picture the decals are well above the waterline.

Try Great Lakes Skipper, too.

The part numbers for the decals can be found on page 5 and 6. Try googling the part numbers as well.

SeaRide,
he was cleaning his tin geri boat of the summer slime and fish guts from the carpet; he really takes care of his belongings. For whatever reason he figured he would clean the side of mine while we were home from the "family" cottage. The SOB started at the bow and didn't quit until he had reached the stern on the starboard side. We share the same 30' dock and I dare not repeat what I thought of the stunt and words spoken. He offered to repair the damage but from past experience I'll never see a dime.

Understood! I hope you are able to find replacement decals or perhaps a graphics shop can duplicate the originals. Let us know the outcome.

Wish I had my set up running. I just moved to AZ and plan in the next couple months to get started in doing this kind of stuff. I know it is no help now. Good luck.

Another option- Just strip the rest of the decals and go white. I did it with my 1999 210BR and got nothing but compliments on how clean and updated the white looked.

Been wanting to do this for a few years now to my 1999 210BR. This was my son's first summer using the boat and there are, well let's just say there are a few scratches on the the decals. Plan on keeping the boot stripe however.

I may just do the same, strip all the decals and see how it looks. Now the question, what is the best way to remove the existing and the glue? Wonder if I can buff the sides in order to match the area that has never seen sun for 15 years.

I tend to doubt that you will get rid of the shadow caused by the decals being on the gel coat for 15 years but maybe other people will have some ideas.

The large side decals came off with ease as well as the glue. I did not remove the one that covers the area where the teal gel coat meets the white as well as the lowest teal and gold at the bottom just above the water line. Very pleased with the new look. The pin strips on the upper cockpit are much more difficult for they tend to break off every several inches or so.
