Does anyone have instructions for tuning carburetors on this boat (175 merc engine)? Or, possibly a pdf repair manual??

After sitting up for nearly 3 years, my husband performed an extensive tune-up and was able to get it running within a few days. It ran GREAT during at least 4 trips, but required a spritz of starting fluid to get 'er going each time. He had resolved the carbs needed tuning, but wasn't sure how to go about doing this.

Then, most recently, he flooded it and hasn't been able to get it to start since. We've replaced the spark plugs, but that didn't get us anywhere.

I'd really like to use it this weekend, so any insight provided would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS

Do not use starting fluid in that engine. Never!! You can squirt some gas into the carbs to prime if necessary, but please never starting fluid. You will fry the engine! When they sit for a long time the carbs lose their prime and it takes some cranking to get it started. You need the manual to get
the primer fuel pump to run before you attempt to start. It
is designed from the factory to run only when the starter is
engaged and that is not enough time to get the fuel from the tank to the carbs. I think your problem is from sitting and the gas left in the carbs have turned to gunk.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out, we were simply unaware of the boat's automatic choke function. No repairs were required afterall. Wheww! That doesn't happen often enough.
