My quick measurement (during winter ) showed a 12 1/2in potentially available width and Garmin says 12.1 in (without cover I believe.)Just checking prior to ordering the unit

I've seen it done. I plan to install a 12" Garmin in that very spot once I save up enough beer cans for the radar to go along with it.

While I wait I decided to put two 7" units in the middle of the dash. A nice stepping stone to a full Garmin setup.

I have an older Garmin plotter in that spot, should be of similar size from what I have seen. 750C6F77-4FC4-4E4D-B593-A0567294BBD1.jpeg

I dropped at garmin 8610 in the place of a raymarine R41. Fit pretty well. I had a couple inches top/bottom and maybe 1/2 inch Left/Right. You might have a pretty close fit.
