When my boat was pulled out of the water, I found out that I was missing the port side exhaust scoop. Does anyone know where to find one and what would be the adverse effects of running without one? Vibrations?

I'm not real sure but I think the design helps create a down draft that pulls the exhaust underwater when you are cruising. I thought I read that here on another thread. I would expect someone more knowledgable on this to chime in, Frank?

I would be concerned that some sea condition or running condition could force water back up into the engine with a disaster result for the engine.

I do not believe the exhasut port has anything to do with cooling the motor. I believe it is more of a "sound" thing. The water that cools the motor is brought in through a brass pickup that leads directly to a sea strainer, then to engine. The water exists through the side of the boat. The exhasut is directed through the bottom. Like you, the guy a few boats down lost his this season and did not know it until he hauled out last fall.

I lost mine last year when I hit a piece of wood on my way to the winter storage marina. I found a replacement part by searching online and I think it cost about $350 - $400. If you decide not to replace it be sure to do something about the four mounting holes in the bottom of your boat. They go all the way through! Mark

I noticed during winter layup my port side exhaust was also missing. Does anyone know how to replace, the screw or bolts are sheared.

I'm sure you found one by now but if not Marine Max got one for me and shipped direct to my house for as good of a price as anywhere else i looked.
