1997 330 express cruiser fresh water pump size??

LOOKING TO FIND OUT IF THE WATER PUMP ON MY BOAT IS THE RIGHT SIZE FOR THE WATER SYSTEM ITS A JABSCO PARMAX 4 WITH A 40PSI PRESSURE SWITCH AND I THINK ITS CRAPPED OUT I DONT WANT TO REPLACE IT WITH THE WRONG ONE IF ITS NOT THE ORIGINAL PUMP THAT THE BOAT CAME WITH, JUST GOT THIS BOAT AND WORKING OUT THE KINKS ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT:grin:

A 4 gpm on 27 ft boat is bigger than it needs to be. My 39 ft has a 4 gpm and is plenty. All you need is 2.5 to 3 gpm for 27 ft boat. More important is you need a bladder tank that will store some water under pressure and reduce the cycling of the water pump. 40 psi is normal for marine water pumps.

thanks for the help the boat is a 33 though, so im still good with the 4.0 pump like ya said but the bladder tank sounds like a great idea gonna have to see where I can tee that in? and what size
