I have a 1997 250 Sundancer and the bottom most level of the cabin (btwn the galley and head), the rug is constantly wet. After researching the prob a bit, seems that the rug of the cabin runs under the stairs where the sump pump is. There is water outside the clear container holding the sump pump so the rug is absorbing the water and spreading it seems. Water, as far as I understand it, that drains in the shower should flow directly into the container and then be pumped out from there. Some how water is getting ouside of the container and I am not sure how. I resealed the box and check the pump/float switch as well. I can't imagine no one has had the same issue with this boat. Any feedback is appreciated.

Somebody just posted about this problem. Do a thread search. I have the same problem. Someone suggested cutting the carpet inside the step where the sump pump is back to the inside of the wall step so there is not so much excess carpet.

Yeah...my intentions are to cut the rug and seal it up but either way, water shouldnt be there so though that's a quick fix (hopefully), still need to figure out how the water is getting there and stop it. Otherwise, the water is just going to sit there

I answered almost the same question in another thread yesterday. I have had the same problem on both my previous 280 DA, 2004 and the boat I´m running now, a 330 DA, 1997. The lid of the sump box has no gasket. When you run the boat in rough seas with some water in the sump box, my theory is that the water splashes around and leaks out of the box.

I bought a tube of floating gasket and attached a string on the top of the box and replaced the lid. I haven´t had any problems since.

Scuma,

My 240DA is doing the same thing. I posted a thread in the General Maintenance forum. It appears to be coming from the engine bilge area through small voids in the epoxy under the shower sump mounting pad.
