Ok ... dumbest question ever I think ... we have a '96 330 with a Kenyon glass cooktop ... 2 burners ... 2 knobs ... AND we can't turn on the knobs! Is there a trick to this? We tried pulling up and turning ... pushing down and turning .. etc. Help!

If the stove has a cover maker sure that the safety shut off switch is operating correctly. The switches do go bad.

I think I know your problem. I think that the stove under the glass is too low, and then the knobs are too close to the glass and then you cannot push them down far enough to turn them. I had that on mine. I did a simple fix. I put a small rubber piece in the knobs then pushed the knobs back on. Problem solved. At some point I will check to see if there is a way to raise the unit under the glass.

Do what Mr Salt states, or a quick check is to push down on the button. It is a small round looking thing which the cover contacts when it sits on it, sometimes this gets gummed up and will not pop up, if it does not pop up the burners will not come on. My burner switches just turn clockwise, for on, or counter-clockwise, for off.

There is no cover ... just the glass cooktop ... yes the breaker is on but power is not the issue ... just cant physically rotate the knobs from off to on ... I will try pulling them off and putting a piece of rubber in the stem ... they may be too close to the top to push down ... thanks all.
