Hello All,
I have always thought that this model Sundancer took too long to get on plane, especially with extra people and fuel on board. After reading a few reviews on CSR about larger trim tabs, I decided to get some made. They really seemed to make a difference. They get the bow down much quicker and I can stay on plane at lower speeds. The new size of the tabs are about 3 1/2" wider and 6' longer. I had them made, so that they fit in the trim tab hinge that is stock to the boat. The shop that made them told me that if other's are interested, he could make them for about $ 200 if at least 10 or more people are interested. So I am just throwing it out there if others want to try them.

How long is the travel on cylinder ram. New from Bennett are 4.6 inches my 2000 came with 2.5. I changed to the longer ones and made it feel like different boat.

did you have to change the mounting point on the transom with the new cylinders or was this a direct replacement?...do you have the Benett part number for the new cylinders?....i was thinking of enlarging the tabs as many have done but if using a longer throw cylinder with the stock tabs has the same effect on performance this seems like an easier way to go....

thanks....

Found them on Ebay they are standard rams. Just put rag on new cylinder with vice grips to keep ram extended out then unhook bottom screws and unthread cylinder from top mount right hand thread. Thread new longer one back in place you will lose very little oil put new screws in that come with it and good to go.

thanks....do the tabs still fully retract until they are level with the hull?

thanks, but when i look at the specs for A1101A 13.75" closed length rams the throw is only 2.5", not 4.6"....maybe i am looking at the wrong ram....i even went to the Benette web site and could not find any rams with a 4.6" throw....
