Hello,

New to this forum, 6th boat, 1st Sea Ray.I just purchased this boat and I am still waiting for delivery. I am ordering new stereo gear to install when it arrives but am unsure about subwoofer placement, without the boat being here I am at a loss for where to install it. I have heard some discuss instaling it under the helm but I would prefer it under the rear bench seat or in enginge compartment. The problem is, I am not sure of the available space from deck to cushion at the bench seat or the area size of the engine partitions on bothe sides of the motor. Any help or dimensions would be helpful.

I'm not sure how much different a '96 210 is to my '89 200, but I mounted a single 12" underneath the dash on the port side. Sub is firing down. Sounds pretty good and very stealth. The only thing I wish I would have done was gone with a ported box instead of sealed. I went sealed because in car and home, I like the way they sound better, and the box is smaller. Ported would perform better and is the route I will probably take when I get bored enough to build a new box.

Cain,
Thanks for your reply. Do you have room next to your engine (between the partitions right and left) to put a 10 inch sub box?

I have a 2007 with a bench along the back. Mine is right in the middle of the bench firing out into the cockpit. The only issues there is that you have to protect your wiring and either grill it well and keep it off of the floor so it doesnt get kicked or otherwise hit by too many things.

My engine sits in between the left and right seats in the back. I thought about (2) 10s but can't really afford to lose any storage space along with not really wanting to cut holes in the boat.
