Just purchased a well maintained 1995 SeaRay Sundancer 250. Always wanted one, but last owner only had it short time and had no manuals and could only explain basic issues. Desperately seeking a complete boat shop manual if any exists, or at least full technical/operational descriptions and full wiring diagram, and complete shop manuals for motor and drives. Numerous calls yesterday to SeaRay customer service and a couple large dealers said they had nothing (maybe an engine manual, but couldn’t get for weeks). Can anyone help this newbie? THANKS!

Welcome aboard, Bob!

There are two separate things you'll be looking for. The boat's "owner's manual" and an engine "service manual".

You will definitely be able to buy the service manual. You likely have a local Mercruiser or Mercury shop - stop by there for the SM. If they don't have it, they can order it for you. Make sure you get the Mercruiser SM - the aftermarket ones aren't always correct and they don't usually have as much info in them. A Sea Ray should be able to get the SM for you, as well - but it really all depends on availability from Mercruiser.

The boat's OM will be tough. You can look at the owner's section on SR's site to see if SR has a scanned copy that you can download. But going back to '95 will be tough. Check a couple years on either side of '95. You can also look on SR's site for a "supplement" or a "sport boat" or a "sport cruiser" manual. Those won't have specific info for your particular model, but the info in there will pertain to all boats.

As far as wiring diagrams, again going back 3 decades is tough. Starting a few years later than yours, Sea Ray started printing very detailed wiring schematics. But likely what you will find is a listing of the wires used for specific circuits and their color coding... which, still is VERY helpful. Don't worry if you don't find your manual - the wiring color coding will be the same for your boat as it for others.

Thanks. Yes, I did order a Mercruiser service manual. But they all were at a loss for the boat OM and wiring diagram. Nothing I can find listed on SR site. Just hoping someone on here has one I can copy.

You're welcome.

As I eluded to above, you're not going to find a wiring diagram for that boat from that era. Just the wiring color codes - which are usually more than sufficient if you're at least somewhat adept at electrical work. BUT, also as mentioned, look to other years - or even other (similar) models - a few years newer and you'll find some wiring diagrams. It's going to be pretty much the same as yours. However, with some easy comparison between the wiring color codes and the diagrams, you'll be fine.

Oh... the engine service manual will not have info about your drive. So if you didn't already know that, you'll want to get a Bravo SM (for your serial number), as well.
