1995 Laguna 24 footer

Hey all currently looking at a 95 Laguna 24 footer. It is down in MD and I'd be trailer-ing it back up to Buffalo for use in Lake Erie and Ontario and the surrounding rivers. 20% fishing the rest pleasure boating, water sports, and some like day cruising or boat in camp sites.

I have read a few threads on here about them and I would love a heads up what to look for when looking at it. From the pictures the hull looks good.

I'm nervous the engine could be towards the end of its life, but its a nice engine if its still solid. 04 Honda 225

I think I will have a surveyor check the boat out this week or next. The asking price for the boat and trailer is 12,500 a few folks have told me to offer 8k and take it at 9,500.

What every ones overall thoughts?

Seems a little pricey. I have one. Check the big forward compartment for rot on the bulkhead under the console. Check the shelf under both batteries. I have also seen a lot of transom rot. They are great boats at the right price but are prone to soft spots. This can work to your advantage when it comes to negotiating. These came with twin 135’s and 150’s. I would like to hear how it performs with a 225. Good luck with it. It’s a good boat. It can be a little wet.
