1995 350 5.7 efi stalling

I have a 1995 sea ray signature select 350.5.7 EFI mercury marine engine. Bravo I Outdrive. The boat runs great at wide open . will idle at times fine . at other times it will stall at idle & will not restart for quite some time then when it restarts it will run fine.

I had a similar problem one time and it turned out to be the distributor. I can't remember if it was cracked or the internal drive gear was bad. Replaced it and fixed the problem. This was on my truck, not the boat.
