Boat Info
95 searayder f16 jet boat
Engines
120 hp mercury
Good day, I just purchased a 95 sea ray bow rider with 95 mercury 125, the prop is missing now I was told to go with the 13x7 is there something that I can use to get the rpm low at higher speed so the engine doesn't yell. Or should I just stay with the original size for this boat. Any suggestions would be so thankful.

Do you know the original size? If not, try going to searay.com and click on support. Then click on the propeller chart link. Your 175 should be listed. Also, why was a 13" suggested? I may be misreading your post, but it sounds like you purchased the boat without a propeller or you may have been under proped.

Also, look up the wide open throttle range for your 125 in the manual and prop the engine accordingly.

Thanks for reply. I did buy with out prop. Now on sea ray web site on the prop finder says 12.50 x 23 with rpm of 5250.
The manual says standard 13x19 but there's an optional of 12.50x23 this is why I'm confused
Another question is how fast is this boat suppose to go I'm thinking in the 30's with the mercury 125hp
What would be the biggest motor I can use incase this one decides to go. Thanks for any reply to my questions

My father in law had a 160 OB with a 100 HP Merc. It would do 40 do somewhere around 5,600 rpm, properly trimmed. Right now, your best baseline is the SR chart. I would reference your manual for the top end of your rpm range and prop accordingly. For example, if wide open throttle is 5,000 - 5,500 rpm, you could turn a 21" prop which will put you around 5,500 - 5,650 rpm. Assuming the boat is lightly loaded and the engine is still strong.

This is a merc sport jet 120 not an outboard correct? I imagine the 13x7 size you stated is for an impeller not a prop. The engine is screming because that's what jet boats do. That and burn a lot of fuel.

The boat is a 95 searay bow rider with a 125 outboard 125.
I will go with the 12.50 prop like it says on the Sr web site hopefully that will go thanks for help

Gotcha, that's much nicer than a jet boat. Congratulations and good luck.
