Hello all,
This is my first post as a new member. I recently bought a 1994 300DA. The boat had the cushion to the aft facing seat (right behind the helm) but was missing the base.
The owner had no knowledge of the seat base. The yard where it was stored said the same.

I was hoping to find one. I’d rather not make one.
I live in Maryland and was hoping to either A) find one here….or B) find out where I could.
This is my first boat I’ve owned outright (not a family boat) and certainly my first Cruiser style. I’ve only had 24’ or smaller outboard fishing boats.
I’m excited to use her to her potential next season, but feel bad that 1-2 of my passengers have to sit on a cooler.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thank you all!

Thanks. That is some “light” reading for sure.
I appreciate your response. have a great day

Welcome aboard! Lots of good information in these forums.

Unfortunately you are most likely going to have to fabricate a seat base to fit the area unless you happen to come across one by chance. These are most like not a stock item and even if they were back in 1994 I doubt anyone would still have them.

Howdy, and welcome to the cult! I’m with @KevinC, it’s unlikely you’ll find something to buy. Make the best base you can, and keep looking for a commercially constructed base. That way, at least you’ll be able to use the seat. You have the forward-facing, fold-up seat at the stern, don’t you?

I do have that seat. Thankfully. I found the fold up legs on Amazon to build it. Yikes! They’re about $70 per leg!
I hope someone will have a salvage boat from 94-97 and part it out. That’s what I’m thinking is the most likely scenario.

It's a boat. Your "yikes" have only just begun.

You probably can make your own legs. Buy a bracket and some stainless tube, cut to length, drill it for the pivot and cap the bottom. If you have a picture of what you need source the parts.

One other thought is to go in a different direction, look for a couple of used folding marine chairs, they’re extremely comfortable! And moveable!

Great minds think alike! Hahaha
I have a couple on board currently, but I was hoping to have those as a backup plan and try to have the original layout. Ideally, that is.
They’re great to have, especially when the party moves from the boats to a pier party!
I’m still hoping to find my needle in a haystack. Lol
