I am considering purchasing a 1994 Sea Rayder with a dock mate from another dock mate. We would use the boat primarily to putt putt around the marina and up the river, maybe sometimes doing a little run out on the lake to some beach spots. My partner tested it yesterday and is enthused, says it's in good shape and he was up to about 50 mph on a choppy lake. The price is $3K but probabaly some room on that. He says it doesn't have an hour meter and that the oil injection has been disabled (didn't work well), so we will need to mix the gas ourselves. The age of the boat is a concern, but may be nice to have a potential classic. I'm looking for comments and opinions.
