Heya,
Saw an ad for a 1994 SR Overnighter 220. http://providence.craigslist.org/boa/4146816113.html
Contacted the seller, and got this:
She included beautiful pix of the boat, too. Well, of SOME boat, anyway...
I warily sent the following response, suspecting it'd be something heinky:
Okay, let's see this supposed deal. If it's in my area, I'd show up with cash. Deal sounds too good to be true, so you know it is exactly too good to be true:
My response:
I just want to be sure that none of us here are gonna fall for this!

"Hi,
Glad you are one of the people interested in buying my boat. I'm selling it because i recently got divorced and as a single woman i don't need it. It is in immaculate condition, meticulously maintained only used in fresh water, no mechanical issues. My 1994 Sea Ray 220 Overnighter only has 358 hours and it definitely shows. It has a 7.4 liter Mercruiser Bravo I stern drive motor, comes with the trailer included and the price is $2,000 for both. Currently still available for sale. I have clear titles, free of any liens or loans on them, under my name. I don't accept any trades. Let me know if you are interested, email me back.
Thank you!
Melissa"

"Hi Melissa,
The boat looks quite nice. Where is it located? I'd like to be able to come see it.

"Richard,
I will try to explain how we can make this sale happen. As I told you in my first email, I recently got divorced and currently trying to start over. I relocated in Omaha Nebraska where I got a new job. The boat is also in Nebraska with me, at the shipping company ready for delivery to a new owner. This sale is going to happen through Google Wallet as I don't have the time to handle everything by myself. With Google Wallet, you get the boat delivered at your place at no additional charge. You will have 5 days as well to try it out prior to making any purchase and if by any reason you find something you don't like about it you can send it back at my expense. If you never used Google Wallet, I can ask them to send you an email with more information on how you can purchase it. This way you also get proof that I am covered by them and i am a legitimate seller. If you would like to receive the email from Google with all the transaction information please reply with your name and phone number and I will have them contact you right away. I look forward to hear soon from you.
Melissa"
My response:
"Thank you for your time. I am not interested in a long distance transaction that requires I purchase a boat before I am able to see it/test it. Good luck with your scam; after all, there is a sucker born every minute, so I'm sure someone will fall for this. -Rick"
I just want to be sure that none of us here are gonna fall for this!
