Happy Monday, I just signed the deal on a new to me 94 400EC ,big step up for us from a 32 Bayliner........looking at this point for guidance and most importantly Keel to top of arch spec. Thanks all, she will be home on the 27th after I bring her down lake Champlain to the hauler for a shake down run.

You're going to love that boat. I had a 93 400EC for 10 years and it fit our needs perfectly. Good handling for a gas engine boat, both on plane and around the docks. Awesome layout and usable swim platform.

Sorry I can't help you on the bridge clearance side but you should go to www.searay.com and click on their model archives to find your boat.

Awesome, I think the boat will really fit our style, glad to hear it handles well, the LOOONG nose had me wondering. I tried sea ray online, no mention of Keel to arch height on the downloadable spec sheet. Thanks!

Is there a bridge clearance height. Couldn't you add that to the draft to get total height? Maybe subtract half the diameter of the prop to determine what the loaded height would be on a truck with the props removed?

BTW, things you should check/seal immediately. This is especially true if you're keeping it in an uncovered slip.

1) Winch mounting. SR just bored holes through the top deck and when the sealant fails it gives water access to the deck coring.
2) reseal around the big long windows as they can leak
3) remove and reseal your hatches.

I will take another look, the specs archived were sort of vague. This model has portholes all along side so I'm out of the woods on that but I will bring up the Winch mount with the surveyor for sure. the boat has all new hatches.........thanks for the support!

That's right. In 1994 they went to port holes instead of the long sliding windows. That's good.

Softness around the winch is a known issue on that boat. Make sure it really check it out. However, if the PO had gone through the trouble to replace hatches then he was probably pretty thorough with the other maintenance as well.

yep, what he said. I had a '96 and my dock neighbor had a '94 he bought new. When he sold it a couple years ago it looked just as good as the day he bought it. One of SR's best...

Welcome to CSR and to the 400EC!! As an owner of a 1994 400EC, I can tell you that you are going to love the boat! I also came from a smaller boat, a 1989 Sea Ray 28' Sundancer. With only a little practice, you will be doing pirouettes in the marina with the boat. I tried to find the specs you are looking for but could not find anything written, so I went to my boat (in the backyard) and took a quick measurement. It appears that the arch is almost 9' from the water (about 106"). Adding the 39" of draft, you should be a little over 12' from keel to arch.

You should look at the thread in this section for 400EC/Sundancer owners. It is combined with the 410 owners, but has some very good information.

If you ever make it to the south shore of Long Island, drop me a note. ENJOY HER!

If you e-mail Sea Ray customer support, they will tell you exactly what the keel to arch height is for shipping. They told me for my 390.

Perfect I think Harold answered for us ,but ill email them anyway, anyone have the address handy? Thanks

You may want to email Sea Ray anyway, just in case I was off a little, particularly if you need the measurement for bridges or the transport service.

I messaged them through their website inquiry section. I'm thinking we are more than ok,the hauler brought a newer 380DA on the same route last month and didn't remove the arch that boat is sitting next to mine in the water and is WAY taller. Better safe than sorry! Thanks Again.

I have the 1996 400EC. Brought mine from Miami to Annapolis Md, and we didn't have to remove the arch. Great boat.
