1994 330 Sundancer interior makeover

Thought I would chime in on the floor issue.
I had been thinking about replacing the carpet for the last 2 seasons.
So I started this past month.

Tore out the stairs that were carpeted and replaced the with Jatoba Hardwood.

Then I took out the carpet and about 1 million staples!

Installed the new stairs.
Need one more piece at top and at bottom to complete.
Four coats of a Waterbourne Traffic Master Satin Finish.

And put down about 1/2 of the floor last weekend and hope to finish it this weekend.
I used an engineered 5/16" Brazilian Cherry Wood, Tongue and Groove and Glued to the sub-floor.

My sump hatch was lower than the original floor also because of the carpet installation.
I made a new one out of 3/4" marine plywood and gave it 3 coats of porch and deck paint.

I am also going to use 'T' mouldings to finish it off.

Running out of time so I will remove carpet from side walls during the season and redo while in the water.
This is not the original carpet so it is in good enough shape to last this year.

Thanks to all the CSR members posts and PM's to help with this MAJOR modification.

Daniel,
The floor looks amazing and I love the new steps. Really nice work, I hope mine looks as good when I get the new carpet in.

Congrats on the upgrade.

Need to install the 1/2 riser on lowest step. (kept it off to slide flooring underneath)

Overall I am pretty impressed with the outcome.
A major update/improvement to the look if the salon/interior.

For those that have stairs that are straight ( mine were not, tread curved on front )
I posted on another area a web site for a new product that can be overlaid on your existing stair treads and risers.

www.starecasing.com

A very interesting product.

Just got a 1998 33, was thinking of the same thing maybe next year.
after seeing that maybe this year......
congrats on a job well done, very impressive.

Well it's been a while, but I'm heading down to the boat this weekend with the new carpeting and the new hatches for the floor. I hope to get the vast majority of the carpet installed, and then start working on removing all the bolsters for re-upholstery. The cushions are just about done and I will post pics soon. If I had it to do all over again, I may have chosen a simpler material to work with for the cushions. The marine vinyl looks awesome, but it's definitely not easy to work with around curves.
