1993 440 DA Sundancer Propellers

Good morning:
I am getting ready to re-prop my 1993 Sun dancer 440 DA, twin 300HP Cummins, I'm wondering if anyone else has investigated the best set up with new technology for this boat. she originally came with 22 X 33, 1 3/4 shaft NIBRAL. They are about done and looking to see if there is anything better.

when you say, "....about done" do you mean they are chipped, nicked, bent or ???? You know you can have them overhauled and tuned at a Prop Shop, right?

This is a list of all the props Sea Ray installed on the 440DA in 1993. I really doubt that Sea Ray or a dealer installed 33" pitch props on your boat and if you do have 33's, the boat is way over propped.

You probably need to go back to square 1 and work with a good prop shop in your area to match the new props to the 300hp Cummins engines by running the boat up to WOT and seeing if you can achieve rated RPMS, then choose a pitch that will keep the rpms at rated rpms.

The 300hp 6BTA Cummins is a fairly low torque diesel and I suspect you will be looking at a much lower pitch prop, more like the 21X 22's than the 22X33's you say you have now.
