1992 - 370DB major project

very nice work... Precision of a dentist...

Raves from Simon!

I don't know if I'm more in awe of the job or your ability to keep the cost less than, say, $50K!! WHITE BILGE!!! I LOVE IT!!

If you get a chance, could you expound on the other $56K spent on her?

Truly a labor of love.

The thought has occurred to me. Mine would be a re-power though! Hell, I'd like to pull the engines just to get to paint the bilge!

It would also be an opportunity to rid yourself of those gate valves.

nah, I'd just shine them up and put them back in.

Thanks guys. Your feedback means a great deal to me.

Ron, My final count puts this project at just around $15k. The savings were to be had by scouring the internet for deals on parts for over a year and by doing the vast majority of the grunt work under the hatches myself.

I will be putting up a website detailing this entire journey with before and after shots for each major project noted above.

I'm sorry, no way did all that only cost $15k. Are you man whoring on the side?

Not that entire list - Just the current project I am on (engines and bilge) is coming in around 15k! I wish I could have done all that list for just $15k, but I would be in prison! The total since I started is around $80k. Things are getting less expensive as I learn where I'm getting ripped off and what I can do myself.

$80K??? holy poo stick. you are either one OCD guy or you got that boat for "free".

Mike, yes and nearly yes!

Even at this expense, I'm well under half for a new bubble gum/tennis shoe looking boat with a cored hull. She should last me many many years now that she is being cared for properly.

I have thought of selling her and doing it again. It "feeds the beast" having projects like this.

The 3" standpipe for the crane is in a forward locker in the master. Attaches to the forward most starboard stringer.

well it looks GREAT. now post some pics of all the other stuff you've done.

Thanks mike, let me get her home and I will have some time to gather my other shots. I just organized all my "before" shots this morning. I have to get it back together 100% and back to her slip for the remainder of the "after" shots.

I think an appropriate adjective is "Outstanding". I even think Frank W. would give you an A++ on this project.

Seriously Skeet...I think you should get some ink in Sea Ray Living for this one.

Instead of "Feeding the Beast" I'm inclined to refer to this as "sharpening the saw...like a razor"

John F.

Skeet.....I have been following your project on 'another' site.....It is some "outstanding" workmanship and most of all relentless "dedication"....Very nice job...!!!!

My sentiments exactly. This would be my argument for a full re-do of these Clinton (and pre-clinton) Era SRs, although many here would disagree. For me the issue would be the re-power, which, alone, would likely cost what your overall expenditures are to this point.

BTW, love the new color scheme. Amazing what ridding a boat of multiple stripes andteal or mauve does for its perceived age!

I can cetainly wait fo the website, but I'm very interested to see what interior decorum changes you've made. If I recall, these boats are fraught with white formica. Geriksen is famous for his interior gutting jobs. Have you done anything in that department, besides the soft goods? One other question - do your forward salon windows leak if you remove the sunscreen?
