Hello all I'm new to this forum, I've been around boats all my life having owned several power and sail. I just purchased a 1990 sundancer 420 NAS must admit totally in love with it I spend more time at the boat the I do at home.

my question is the following in that I have a hard time finding informational literature on the boat I have all the original sea ray manuals, I'm looking more like hands on info as far as fuel burn operational tips handling characteristics, the boat came out of the factory with 3 bladed props and someone down the line changed to 4 bladed we have twin Cats 3208 does any one know of any major differences with the different props as apparently I'm not getting the best performance with the ones on there now. I had the engines checked by a CAT. Rep and everything check out good with them, I will be bugging you guys with questions for a while hope you guys don't mind.. Thanks.

I must say thanks for all the help...

Congrats on the 420.....the 90's era DAs are timeless classics in my opinion. I would offer some advice but I have no damn idea about the props on that boat!

Congrats on the boat, great engines that should last a lifetime with proper maintenance. If you are making the recommended RPM's with those props, then they are correct. Get the factory specs for those engines and check the WOT RPM's. you should be very close to those numbers. If not, time to contact a good prop guy for recommendations.
