I hope I'm doing this correctly. First, what category is my boat in? the 1990 350 became a 370. More importantly, I need new canvas desperately. I would like to update the "look" to the new style. Specifically, a plastic window above the windshield rather than the smashed down type so I can see without bending over and a sloping(gently) rear camper enclosure with windows. Both pieces can anchor to the rearward angled radar arch. Does anyone have ideas? Patterns? I am in northern Michigan. Thanks in advance Dick Stubbs.

Welcome and you have a great boat. I had the same ideal canvas you are looking for except my camper top was full isenglas. It was just canvas around the edges. You could definately see a lot but not sure I would recomend it in your area with the winter. This stuff can break and crack easily in the cold. I also had a custom cockpit cover and dash cover made for the warm months. As far as category I always considered mine a 350. mine only had a black boot stripe at the bottom and I replaced the sea ray and 350 logo with the newer 98 style script. It was all custom but nothing any vinyl shop couldn't pull off. I had planned to redesign my canvas eventually to the newer style where the bimini and partial camper are kinda one piece and then you just have the enclosures. I saw that on a few 350's and really liked the look.

Hey Dustin, what kind of fuel burn do you get with the updated motors? I found a 350 EC with updated 7.4l Bluewater Mercs but can't find any good information on that boat with those motors. Thanks Perry

I was burning around 20gal an hour at 3350 RPMs per engine roughly about 24mph. However keep in mind I was also running 20 square Nibral as well. those things really made a differnce. Now that is an estimate of coarse but that was according to my flow meters. I can promise you this. The 05 360 dancer my buddy has for sale that I take care of burns a lot more than my 350 did. It has T496's in it and I swear those things do nothing but drink fuel. One of the main reasons I won't buy his boat and other than I can't afford it! The EC is a differnt beast though. If I am not mistaken it has straight drives verses my Vdrives but I may be wrong. It will plain differntly and crusie differently without all the weight in the rear.

Wow, 40gph combined. That's a huge jump from 17gph on my 280. I know, two totally different boats. I found a 90's 350 that was completely updated and they were asking $45k. I think that's too much but then again close to what you just gpt for yours right? I like the straight drives the EC's have. I just read your other thread. Sorry to hear about the loss.

Yea it sucks but at least I didn't have to write a check. I pay all this money for good ins and it worked in my favor. Yea inboards are wallet breakers but they take rough water like a champ. For where the market is at right now the seller really gets the screws thrown to them these days. I would expect to pay around 35k for a really nice 350 if they wanted out of it. If they don't they can stick to their price. I plan to move to a 95 and up 450 or 500 eventually. gonna keep my eyes on the market for a while and see where it goes. Time to go diesel! There are still some great 350's on the market at good prices. This 05 360 is pretty much the same boat just newer. Not sure what you are looking to spend on one but the 350 can still be dry stacked in FL.

So you couldnt keep the enclosure huh,i just had an offer accepted on a 92 370 that has the low front and slantback,i will have to change that eventually ,i am only 5'8 so i dont have to stoop to see but the next owner may be taller so i may go with the eisenglass across the front. Most of us cold water guys put our canvas away in the winter so the shrinking cracking issue is only for those that dont.

Dustin
You saying your floscans tell you that you were burning 40gph? That sounds really high. The carb'd 7.4s in my 340DB, at that same rpm, would burn a total of just under 32gph. I know they were accurate b/c I kept a log of every gallon of fuel burned (according to the totalizers) and compared that to how much each tank would take at fill-up. Guess none of that matters to either of us anymore :.-(

SORRY FOR THE HIJACK MR. STUBBS!
