1990 Sundancer 350 with 454's. Stbd engine won't start. I hear a click when I turn the key. Jumped the starter and starter turned and the engine started. The click comes from one of two electric gizmo's (sorry, I'm a CPA, not a mechanic) that are mounted on the side but toward the front of a V-drive engine, right above engine mounted fuel filters. I recall 4 studs on each. The other thing that comes to mind is that I have had to move that engines shift handle through neutral before that engines starter would turn over. I think there is a electrical switch to keep from starting in gear. Where is it? Bought the boat used and got no engine manuals. Thanks. This a great site for Sea ray newbies. Bob Barry in Ft Myers Fl. P.S., my son can help me, he is a mechanic.

Soft clicking and no operation of the starter is usually a slave solenoid/slave relay
stbd side of the motor and above the spin on fuel filter.
The safety no start in gear switch is in the control box.

Boat Doctur, you were right on. Installed new solenoid and it fired right up. The location you described was right on also. Installing the new solenoid was a real challenge. NO ROOM to work. Thanks again. You know what you are talking about.
