Have bought a 1990 SR 350 Sundancer. I would like to install shoot thru the hull transducer for a depth finder. Was this bottom solid glass or cored? Thanks.

I think they are solid, but look for other transducers and the engine seacocks. If there are clustered together in the center of t he bilge, stay in that area with you install a new transducer. If they appear scattered about in the bilge, then the hull is solid.

Frank, your comment above piqued my interest and made me wonder about the hull on my boat. Most of my thru-hulls are in an area along the centerline of the boat and near the aft end of the engine room. I always figured that was for convenience and to keep them out from under the engines. Is my core solid or hulled?

Just curious.

Try contacting SeaRay they should be able to tell you if it's cored or not. We had a 1990 310 DA and it was a solid glass hull

My 1990 transducer is a shoot through hull type. Will be the same as yours. It is mounted forward of the port transmission.

I have the same boat and it is not a cored hull. I also have a Lowrance transducer glued to the inside of the hull in my engine compartment and it works fine.

It isn't for convenience. Sea Ray builds the cored hulls with solid areas for transducers and seacocks. The areas where all that stuff is clustered is solid.

My hull is cored and here is a plug from the area mentioned above where we added a transducer:

Sea Ray customer service is very helpful. Call them with your HIN. I called them about my boat when I was going through the purchase process and they let me know that the hull is solid. They also emailed me a copy of the original order sheet for the boat.
