Just purchased a 1990 35 sundancer with 454 mercruisers props are currently 17x16's three blades, its not that I'm not happy with the performance, but I was wondering if anyone has tried a set of four blade props on one of these boats (or something similar) with good results? If someone has what size four blade?

Thanks
Tom

A good friend just put 4 blade on his and he is happy. Said it improved all aspects.

I have 17 x 17 on mine WOT 4000 rpm which I know is to low. Top speed was 34-35 mph.

I have an 88 340 Sundancer. It came stock with 3 blades, but the previous owner put 4 blades. I am happy with them. I run on fresh water 3000 rpm and about 24 miles per hour. With that setting I was burning about 13 gal an hour total this past summer. WOT was about 35 miles per hour as it registered on the GPS. The only thing I found was turning around on the Connecticut River at speed. The channel was not wide enough to turn around at plane. On the ocean there is plenty of room so that I do not start pulling cavitation on the blades.
