My 1990 Sea Ray 230CC's upper dash panel/sun visor is starting to look REALLY bad and I am looking to replace it or refinish it but I have no idea how to remove it and, to tell you the gosh honest truth, I am thinking it is NOT going to be easy.

Can anyone assist me with the procedures on how to go about removing it and or information on what best to replace it with?
Is there an aftermarket company that makes direct replacements for it?

I appreciate any and all feed back that you may send me.

Thanks !:smt017

I have an '89 230 cuddy with the same problem. Although I haven't looked into how the dash comes apart yet, I have been doing some electrical work up under the dash and have noticed a series of nuts on bolt shafts that appear to be holding the upper part of the dash in place. You can try looking for them through the electrical access panel in the cuddy. They are up in the four corners of the visor area and they have rather large fender washers on them, likely because of the strange angle they're on. My '86 Sundancer had a similar method of attaching the visor except they used self tapping screws that were accessible from underneath the dash. Our 230 is currently in the upholstery shop for a new top but I'll ask the guy how they go about doing the dashes when I pick the boat up next week.
