Hi Mike, installed a Lewmar windlass a while back on my 2000 215 express cruiser.

Not an easy task I must say. Probably one of my most difficult. I would rate it twice as hard as changing your impeller yourself. The scariest part is drilling big holes up top.

I had to relocate the navigation lights and install a anchor roller too. The big holes went just in front of the “bulkhead” so the rode would wall the furthest into the anchor locker. I made a jig so I could drill two big holes that ended up being through part of the hatch. I had to beef up the underside of the hatch with starboard because I wanted the hatch to still open. Careful planning over the winter then installed it the spring of 2008 and it still works. Mistake I made was using wood for the underneath of the anchor roller and under the hatch. I painstakingly encapsulated the marine grade wood with epoxy but water made it in and it rotted a few years later. Use Starboard.
Windlass including: anchor roller, navigation lights, neat cleat, wood, anchor rode, wire, windlass, connectors, anchor lock, tools, nuts and bolts = $1060.00
