I just went to my marina to check on my boat and found the front port windshield completely broken. The boat is a 1989 340EC. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this fixed?
At this point I'm leaning towards taking the frame apart and bringing it to a local glass shop. I believe they should be able to cut a piece of tempered safety glass to fit the frame and mount it in the frame for me.
Has anyone else had to deal with something like this before? Anyone have any other suggestions that may be better? Any and all input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance from a very disgusted Captain.

I'm not sure at this point. Whatever broke it hit the windshield from the outside since all the glass ended up in the boat. I have not found anything out of the ordinary in the boat left behind. The boat is still on the hard in the marina parking lot and the marina has cameras so I'm gonna ask the office to review the footage

Well luckily (sorry its a crapy situation) it is flat glass. It shouldn't be hard to go to a local glass place and get good tempered glass... it won't be cheap but atleast its available!

Jason (Pyro) is right. It won't be cheap, but it's fixable. It is flat glass luckily. Be thankful the frame isn't messed up.

Ouch, I feel for you! I had to replace a piece on a 20 year old bow rider and it was curved. Took the marina doing the insurance repair almost 6 months to find someone that could make it and it still wasn't the same again.

Hope all goes well!

*UPDATE* I spent 3 hours yesterday trying to remove the frame. I got if half way out and it started to bend other parts of the surrounding frames. I stopped before causing more damage. I guess I'll be paying someone to come to the boat and do it.

You might want to call Taylor (look on line for their contact info.) if they made the frame and glass. I called last week for some rubber channeling and according to the lady I talked with they go back to 1989 on a lot of Sea Ray items soI ordered enought to do the boat plus extra.

The windshield is probably a TaylorMade or possibly Water Bonnet. Find out which and call the manufacturer. Flat glass is WAY easier than curved, but the color is unique, and if you don't get it correct, it will be very obvious.
