He should be able to follow the hoses from his thru-hulls to an engine-mounted pump (belt driven). Access may be tricky but the pump location should be pretty obvious once you get back there.

If it the same as my boat, it will be easy to find. I think his bilge has more space than mine to work in.

Small tip -- it is easier to remove and re-install the water pump if you remove the hoses from the sea strainer, then pull the water pump off, then remove the raw water hose from the pump. The engine hoses are softer, so they are easy enough the put back onto the pump after re-install, but the hoses that go from strainer to the pump aren't as forgiving, so put the raw water hose back onto the pump, pull it through to the strainer, then re-mount the pump. This process will save you some cursing and sweating.

I'm imagining this poor soul will have the good ole mechanical fuel/water pump combo. Unfortunately, it's a bit more involved than just the water connections if you're going to take the whole thing off.
You 2006 guys are pretty state of the art ya know
