I just purchased a 1989 Sea Ray 280 Sundancer too. My transom bench seat was mangled and missing pieces... So bad that I cannot figure out how it went together, or what parts are missing.

I would also love to find out how to replace it. I would appreciate anyone with information...

I just purchased one as well. Is there an upholstered bench seat there, or just a bolster that runs the length of the transom on the inside? Mine has the bench seat that folds back against the transom, under the bolster, but one of the two leg sets for the bench seat are broken. The boat is 50 miles from my home, can get you photos the next time I go there.
But I have a question for you. I have the 4.3 lx's and It seems to me my boat is underpropped because it had a heavy (300 lbs) swim platform bolted to the back that I removed. My props are aluminum 16-16 (diameter-pitch) Can you tell me diameter and pitch of your props, and with those, can you give me WOT rpm's, and also cruise speed at what rpm. If you don't know that yet, that's fine.

Sorry about the delay. Our seat in the garage is the one that used to set behind the helm seat. LOL if im using the right terminology. Can I take pics of mine or am I too late.

Rick, Mark Riggs is inquiring about the transom fold-down seat, attached to the transom. You'd be facing forward when sitting there, vs the opposing seat attached to the back of the helm seat, facing aft. Which one do you have in your garage?

I have the one facing backwards in the garage but I can take pics of the one in the boat that is attached to the transom if it helps.
