1989 280 Sundancer-Cockpit Cover

My 89' 280 Sundancer has just about worn the Cockpit Cover out. Does anyone have a good source for either OEM or a custom house that will make a new one?
My rig has the radar arch, and the over the counter covers don't work.

Honestly, your best bet is going to have one made at a local canvas maker.

I ended up calling Sea Ray who confirmed what Lazy Daze said. I located an upholstery shop (recommended by dealer) who said he could make a new one for between $500-$600. I'll probably go that route at the end of the season.

That price is VERY good. Just make sure it's not a "cheap" price, if you know what I mean.

I checked with Great lakes for a cockpit cover for my boat and got this email back.

Thank you for your interest in Great Lakes Boat Top original replacement canvas. We are sorry, but unfortunately, the items you have requested for your 2008 Sea Ray 240 sundancer are not available because we are restricted by the manufacturer from selling products that recent. You could contact Sea Ray to perhaps purchase the product from them.

so I checked with the dealer and was told I should check with the local canvas maker, they quoted me $1500 installed for the same cover ordered thru the dealer.

This is a $900 option on Sea Rays web site.

Jack, the cost of a product will always be more when ordering after the boat is built. Sea Ray charges the dealer more, so of course the price is higher to the customer. By how much, I'm not sure - I'm not at a computer where I can check the price right now. Plus, you have to figure about 1 to 2 hours of labor in. (on edit) Depending on what snaps are already on your boat, there could be more labor).
