We're making the 500 km trek to Vancouver to look at (and hopefully buy) a 1989 230 cc this coming Saturday. The seller is asking $12,500.00 cdn for the boat complete with a 12 year old trailer with new brakes and bearings. The pictures show it to be in immaculate condition. Other than inspecting the stringers and transom for rot and the usual mechanical and gelcoat inspection, does anyone have any input regarding other areas of this model that may need a bit of extra attention. This boat originally lived at Lake Tapps in Washington State until the current owner purchased it two years ago. He says he's selling it to upgrade to a larger boat. The pictures show it has a "skeg gaurd" on it so we're also wondering if these have any negative effect on handling. We've been looking a long time to find a 230 cc in decent shape,,,,hope this one is it. Thanx in advance everyone.

You wont know that skeg guard is there ,but , why is it there ? is the fin broke ? Good luck , they are nice boats

No negative effect on handling, most people add one after they take a chunk out of original skeg, which isn't too hard to do.
