I have a 1988 searay sorrento 25 and get water in my cabin whenever it rains hard and can't find a bilge pump anywhere. I was told there should be a bigle pump in the cabin somewhere. Can someone help me with this

Obviously, the best solution is to track down and fix the leak - and there are plenty of threads about finding cabin leaks that you can look at by searching.

It's unlikely that you have a bilge pump in the forward (cabin) bilge. IF you did, it would most likely be by the shower sump - but mounted outside the sump box. You can also figure this out by identifying the thru-hulls on the side of the boat.

You can also look through your manual for info - or download it from SR's site. But I highly doubt you have a forward bilge pump. It's not an area that would be expected to see water so no pump would be there. Some of the newer models have one... but we're talking about a boat that is 30+ years old here. Nice boat, though!

thank you. I believe it is coming in through the hand railing down the side of the boat and then coming back up through the floor as it fills but I'm not suite sure how to get to the bolts for the hand railing

I have an 85 260DA that shares a similar cabin layout with yours and mine has a cabin bilge pump under a trap door in the floor between the head door and steps, suggest looking for an access panel nearby. My pump has a float and can be manually turned on by a switch labeled CBN STDN PUMP on the dash.

I dont have a switch on my dash for any switch except the one in the engine bay. Would that mean that I dont have a switch in the cabin then. I feel like I have water stuck under the floor that I need to get out

No switch doesn't necessarily mean you don't have a cabin bilge pump as it could be automatic only. If it's not there by the sump box and there are no other removable floor panels, then you wouldn't have one.

Getting the bowrail stanchion base plates... some of them might be easy with a removable cap... other times you have to go through/behind/remove cabinetry. I can't really offer any guidance since I can't see your boat from where I am... ;)

Portlights are another common source. So is a crack in the anchor locker floor or wall.

Google for butyl rubber tape - this would be the best stuff to use to reseal the base plates and screw heads. For portlights, do not use 3M5200. An exterior, UV rated sealant like BoatLife Lifeseal or 3M 4000UV would be good. Those can also be used for the plates.

I will look into that for sure. Thank you for your help. I'm hoping I can find an access panel in the floor cause I feel like there's water trapped underneath of it that I need to get out. When I use my trim tabs I can never get the boat level and I almost feel like the water is swishing from aide to side cause a weight distribution problem. Im not really sure tho.

I have an 88 s24 sorrento. On mine the forward bilge pump is located under the stairs. Do you have the cooler storage compartment in the floor between the seats? If you do there should be a access panel that you pop out and its in there. It pumps out the water from the step drain and sink.

I dont believe I have a cooler storage area. Not sure what you mean. Come down the stairs in the cuddy and to the right is the bed area underneath the dash and then going forward is the bathroom on right and fridge on left and then the seating area where table is in middle. I don't see any way of getting under the stairs or any access panel unless its underneath the carpet somewhere. I can get pics tomorrow

We talked early on about the shower sump and I assumed you knew where that was since you didn't ask more about it... or looked in your manual for info about it. Take a look in your manual, I'm sure there's info in there about it. Sometimes it's under the steps (lift up) and sometimes in a trap door in the floor. I mentioned a sump "box" earlier... it's possible that because of the age of your boat, there is no box and the pump is just mounted to the forward bilge floor.

Yea the shower pump is in the engine compartment towards the front in a clear box

Bilge area. No good with technical terms.
