I have a 1988 Sea Ray Sundancer with twin 5.7 liter Mercs and IO's. My port side throttle cable is stiff making docking almost impossible. Does anyone know where I can get this part?

Upper cable or lower? I've had my lowers replaced twice in 7 years and that helped my shifting greatly. I don't know where to get the uppers besides a merc dealer. Look at the cables and see if there is any info printed on the jacket that would help identify the length, type etc.

I disconnected the shift cable and isolated the throttle cable from the front controls. this is he cable that is causing he problem. The dealer wants engine serial numbers I cannot find them.

I probably won't be back under the shrink wrap on my boat until sometime next week, and I can't remember for sure, but there should be some kind of identifying markings on the housings of your present cables.

for my 88 dancer i used morse d63732-000-0252.0 port throttle and d63732-000-0216.0 for starboard throttle

Just replaced all four upper cables on mine. Haven't even started it yet, since then.
Completely, (and I mean completely) tore down the shifter controls and greased all with 2-4-c according to the manual.
Winter storm coming today....again..
So...I'll let you all know soon, hopefully....
