1988 4.3l engine replacement

I have been having trouble with my 20' Seville OB engine running rough this year. I had some water in the gas which I cleaned out, but last night when I pulled the plugs and did a compression test I found all kinds of problems. Cylinder 1 and 3 spark plugs were missing the center electrode and side electrode completely and had oil on them. compression was 10psi and 15psi in these 2 cylinders. All other plugs were tan and compression was 165-180. So it looks like I need a new block and at least 1 head and pistons.
I am looking for other engines that I can put in cheaply and later model 4.3 with the balance shafts from trucks seem to be the most plentiful and cheap. Can I use the accesories and exhaust from the engine I currently have on a later model engine? Anyone have any suggestions for other cheap options that I can use?

There was a guy on "The Tube" that pulled one from a mini van for a customer. He put a turbo on it and got some huge HP numbers from it. Sounds like the boat handled it great.
