1988 300DA Generator location?

My '88 300DA did not come with an OEM genset but I have recently acquired a complete Onan 6.5 I wish to install. Where did Sea Ray locate them from the factory? Anyone have pics?

I believe layouts are similar between 88 and 89 (unless there was an inboard option I missed!!)....my 4.0 gen is D21 in the attached image from page 5 of the parts manual. Batteries/switches are D23, converter D8, and other components arranged as pictured, as well. (The '89 parts manual is available on the Sea Ray site, or I'm happy to PM it if you care to send me your email address; docs for '88 are more scarce but another member may have them.)

Keep in mind the bilge was likely configured for no generator and other things put in the space it would occupy. In my case it was the waste tank in the generator position among other things.

I have the generator in my 1988 300 DA. Don't know if you can get a bigger generator in. The generator is located right in front of the port engine it does not sit centered on the boat. The water heater is in the floor storage just before you go below. The 20 gallon holding tank is between the generator and the port gas tank. It is so tight in there to work on anything if you drop something good luck picking it up. I can take some pictures later on this week for you.
