1988 30 weekender throttle

I tried the search but no match.My port throttle drops back to idle when pushing forward.It has morse controls.it seems like a drag adjustment but I don't see anything to adjust on the mechanism.i removed the top stainless plate but there is nothing under there.anyone ever have this.I have seen these throttles on every boat in these years so there must be some fix for this.Thanks
