1988 27' Amberjack DNR

I Have a 1988 27' amberjack with twin 4.3 liters and alpha outdrives. I bought it 15 years ago with about 240 on the engines with hour meters disconnected. I have put on about 500 hours each. The engines need tweaking every year and still are not 100% reliable. I lost the Bimini top frame and all in a fire. New Bimini top with frame is about $5000.00 here in Central lake erie area. How do I proceed with estimating costs of restoration of engines and electrical. I can handle all the cosmetics. Any imput is appreciated.

I also have a 1988 AJ with 4.3 v-6 power. I have owned mine for 18 years. I pulled my own engines and disassembled everything at home. I took long blocks to a engine rebuilder on a rented trailer. Each long block with reman heads cost 2200.00. Then I replaced every component on the engine I could right down to the hose clamps. It was worth it.

Thanks for the reply.What was the cause of the rebuild and how many hours did you have? Was the 2200 for replacement of all components of engine and where did you find the rest?
