1987 Sundancer 268 5.7 alpha remove exhaust risers still in water?

Hi has anyone has removed their exhaust risers still in the water? It looks like the top of the y hose is well above the water line and I should be fine. Getting onto the hard is a pain mid season, I want to work on this at my dock.

I had the same concern last year and waited until it was out of the water. Turned out my worries were unfounded - you should be fine doing it while it's in the water.
