1987 250 Sundancer Leaks

for sure we all do. over time the seals and or caulk go bad.Hatches and some windows are two pices that sandwitch the boat hull or deck between them . get a quality. disassemble the unit in question and clean all serfaces of old caulk. lay a clean bead of caulk on both halfs of the unit. b sure to caulk in the holes the screws go through. and re assemble. do not over tighten this will force the caulk out of place. a windshield may need a fresh bead of clear silaconearound the edges to reseal it.

Thanks for the info. The p/o caulked the one hatch shut. I guess it will need a new one if I can"t clean it up and fix it. What part of MD are you from ?

Yes, most every one's does at some time.
In most case it just a mater of maintenance.
Removing the windows and hatches and re-sealing them.

In some cases the actual rubber components of the windows can fail and leak.

You should investigate if you have a leak to see if any rot and damage have emanated from it. Often, once you notice a leak, it's been leaking a while.:smt009
