1986 268 weekender engine speed and planning?

I get my max speed with the tabs up. But i need to use some tab down when cruiser at a slower rpm to stay on plane. Every boat is different. I know if i'm cruising at 30 mph and i start putting the tabs down i actually lose speed and i can hear the engine working harder

Lime,

If I boated on a smaller lake, I might be able to try having tabs up all the way to experiment more. Perhaps I could get a bit more speed out of mine, and like you said, all boats are different. I am on Lake Erie, exclusively, so it's very rare for conditions to be perfect for "speed" tests. Such is life...it's all good. :)
