I am considering adding a Humminbird HDR610P in dash depth sounder with an in hull transducer to my boat ----- I am told that the hull should most likely be no thicker than 1/2 inch in order for the depth sounder to work on my boat......

Does anyone know what the actual hull thickness is on my particular boat model and whether the Humminbird transducer will work......?

A few footnotes ---- I have twin V drives and the transom mounted transducer wont really work due to the turbulance and the small mounting area right between the tunnels.....Also, I have an Ensign depth sounder with a through hull transducer on the boat now but it doesnt work beyond 200 FOW, and I will be traveling out to 400 FOW more often this next season.....

Thanks in advance for the help!

I can't answer your question but I was told by the Humminbird rep that the shoot through will work fine for my boat, just not as well as a through hull transducer.

I have a Humminbird 788c for my lower station and I'm going to purchase an 1157c at the boat show in January for the upper helm. I plan on using shoot through transducers for both (at least until I have the boat lifted out of the water for bottom paint again).
