If I fill up my on board fresh water tank I get an objectionable starboard list unless I compensate by only filling my starboard gas tank to about 30% capacity. I can avoid storing any fresh water in my tank with a dock water connection. Has anybody made such a modification for a similar boat?

I added shore water to my boat a few years ago but for a different reason...I didn't have one.

Not hard to do but I'd advise the use of a stainless steel inlet such as you see on campers. I found the plastic, marine ones with the built in regulators to be pretty crappy and prone to breakage and leaks. You'll need to add a separate regulator inline or at the hose bib though.

A one way check valve is needed as well to avoid pressurizing the 12V pump from the wrong side too.

There are plenty of diagrams online explaining the particulars.

If I leave the dock I will have to switch a valve to close off the dock water feed and open the holding tank feed. I'm trying to figure out how to configure all that in an accessible area. The way it's ser up now, to get to the water tank and pump I have to disassemble an aft bunk.

You'll need to work in that area, but only for the initial installation and periodic maintenance.

To leave the dock all you do is shut off the supply at the pedestal (DISCONNECT THE HOSE), then turn on your 12V water pressure pump.

The one way check valve does the switching for you. Notice that it's between the municipal hook up and the pump. Also, you'll need to shut off the pump while you're getting pressure from the dock.

When I bought my boat it had a male hose to male hose adapter connected to the water outlet on the Aft deck and the water hose coming from shore, working for 20 years. About the pump I once had my boat connected to high-pressure shore water ( didn’t know the pressure was so high there). The hose from boat to shore swelled and sprung a leak from the pressure And my water pump was fine. I believe the water pump has a check valve in it. I haven’t looked into it and I don’t have the model pump offhand but it’s a belt driven pump made by Jabsco. I’ve had dockside water and the pump on at the same time with no problem. I have since bought a in-line regulator just in case I run into another marina with to much water pressure.
