1985 30' Sea Ray 300DB Sedan Bridge Project

My genset (Westerbeke) is under the dinette seat too. There is no room around those engines, it is tight!

Lots of cool stuff you picked up..... I'm just as bad as you, always picking up some great deal

My Admiral has been following the posts and likes your dinette table. She asked if you would post a picture of it folded down :smt001 Ours does not fold up, she thinks that is a great idea and likes the drink holders. Sounds like I will be paying to have that done to ours or buying a new one that will fold up, thanks a lot :smt013 hehehe

I'll go down and take some pictures tomorrow of the dinette and genset for you.

Thanks Pack, that would be awesome!! I am primarily interested in the wood structure below the cushions. Both inside and out. And also your cushion arrangement on the aft bench. And if you think about it, can you double check that both benches are the same height off the floor?

Glad that you like the table, I though it was kind of neat too. There are metal slides under the table that extend out to support that table when it is folded down flat. When I get to the boat later this week, I will make sure to take more pictures for you with the table in both positions so that you see what you are getting yourself into!

Thanks again! :smt038

I will do the same and get you some picks, but maybe later in the week

Great! Whenever you get a chance, no rush.

Hope that you guys plan on hanging around here for awhile, I know I am going to have lots of questions as I continue to tear into her!

My genny ( Kohler) is under the rear dinette seat as well. There should be a compartment cover under the seat. The genny sits fore/aft and most of it is actually under the dinette floor. It is a ***** to get at. I removed it a few years back for some repair work and it was not enjoyable. I'm going to make a sound shield for it this year so I guess I get to do it again! Both of the dinette seats are the same height on my boat. My table doesn't fold up so I shortened it a bit so that it wouldn't stick out as far into the cabin.I posted some interior pics a while back - do a search - they may be helpful.

Here are a few pictures. It's a mess since we are mid-dashboard replacement.

Randy - Thank you very much for your reply, I think it is actually starting to get through my thick skull now :smt021 I was having a hard time believing that Sea Ray would out the genny there but I guess I was wrong. It makes a lot more sense now that I know it actually sits down in below the floor some. I will have to pull up the carpet the the PO installed when he ripped out the dinette, but I am sure I will find that he put a floor in its place and closed it off. Guess I will be ripping that out and going back to the original way as I want to be able to add a generator there some day!

:smt038 Thank you very much for the pictures!! Very helpful indeed. I will be sending you some back soon on my table when i get out there again.

Looking forward to seeing your dash replacement project finished up! Looks like you are doing new panels and gauges, sweet!!

One thing I should have mentioned on that genset shot is that's only half of the genset. The remainder is under the floor. The floor in that area under the table is removable so you can access the rest of the genset. I would have shown you that too but its a beotch to take apart.

I got confirmation that my dash panels are shipping out today so hopefully next week it will be done :smt038

Agree with the floor. If you pull up on that floor it will expose the generator side of your genny. I also serves as an air vent to allow extra circulation for the genny. I also store my spare anchor under the dining floor.

You guys are awesome!!! I got to spend about 3 hours working on the boat last night and made a lot of head way on the dinette table. What I thought I had done right, i was about 1/2 way there one. With the extra pics and your guys explanation of where the genny goes, I was able to figure out exactly what the PO did when he tore the dinette out. Pulled up his false floor and found all of the stuff below it!! (Pad for genny, wiring for genny, easier access to hot water heater, etc! You guys were a big help! :smt038 Good news is doesn't look like it will be to hard to put back together, just ned to bring the right tools and fasteners with me next time.

Also, got some other great news yesterday!! I finally heard back from the city marina in Havre De Grace MD where I wanted to keep the boat for the season. The had an opening and are able to get me in for this year!! I was really excited as they are a pretty popular marina because they are owned and operated by the city and keep their prices low compared to all of the other marinas in town! I will be on Pier 5, 1 pier away from the boat ramp so I get to sit on the flybridge and watch all the crazy people! :smt043Of course, I expect to be out at anchor more often than in the slip when I am on the boat!

Pack, here are some pics of my table for you. This first one is with the table opened up, as if you would be eating at it.

This picture shows how much of the table flips back up and out of the way when not in use.

These are the supports that slide out from under the stationary part of the table when you want to use it completely flat.

IMG_0471.jpg

Close up photo of the supports on the bottom side of the table. You can see that the support is basically a "T" shaped piece of aluminum. If you look closely, you will see a bolt protruding through at the very back of the support. This will slide forward until that bolt hits the block of wood approx. half way out on the slide.

Sorry I don't have dimensions for you, I forgot to grab my tape measure :smt021 I can get them for you next time!

Thanks again for all of the help guys! Things are starting to come together!

Alright guys, I want to update/replace the battery charger on the boat as I get her ready to go into the new slip in a couple of months. I was doing a little bit of preliminary research and came across this one, its the Pro Mariner ProNautic 50amp battery charger with 3 outputs.

It looks to have decent reviews and would do everything that I need it to. Do you guys know what you have??? My boat is set up with 2 dual switches, so 2 batteries per switch for a total of 4 batteries. So it seems to me that I would need to have a charger with 4 banks/outputs. I guess 1 output could charge 2 batteries in parallel but it seems to that would open up the possibility of one battery draining down the other one. Is there a better way to do this? Do I need a separate bank for each battery? This is the first time I have really had to work with battery chargers at this level.

Edit - AKBASSKING - I read some of your threads and it looks like you went with a similar model? Would you mind sharing where you mounted it and wired it up?

Thanks for the help!

I still have the original Pro Mariner charger.

I am looking at replacing it this year with this inverter/charger:

256252_M_E_MS-SERIES_PPM

2000W 12V SINE INVERTER 100A CHARGE

Make sure you call ProMariner and ask them if that charger will work. I put the wrong one in : http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/42042-Wrong-Battery-Charger

I ended up buying a remanufactured unit from them at a very reduced price and have been very please with it.

Thanks for chiming in, I was hoping that you would. After I posted that, I went back and read some of your threads and came across the one regarding the wrong charger. However, I wasn't able to find where you said what charger you ended up with. Do you know which one you have? Also, thanks for the great tip on checking for a refinished one for the manufacture.

Also, did you change the battery wiring on yours, or did it come set up like that? (2 start and 1 house)

Well, with the great news that I was able to get a slip yesterday, I decided to swing in and take a look at it on my way home from work today. Here are some pics to share with you guys. These are my cruising grounds on the Upper Chesapeake bay. So the first pic is where the marina is located.

The Pier that I will be on. I am the 10th slip out on the left. 36' long and about 15' wide. Should be a great slip!

IMG_0481.jpg

There it is, slip number 510.

IMG_0484.jpg

Here is a shot from standing on the finger pier opposite of the slip. As you can see, a finger pier on the starboard side of the slip and pilings out front and on the port side.

There is a park located at the top of the hill from the Marina. It is in memory of all of the citizens of the town that have served in protecting this country! Awesome to see the town remembering these individuals. This park is also the site of some neat festivals throughout the year, such as the seafood festival!

Looking out across the bay! Beautiful day!!!

Going to be starting some teak sanding tomorrow! Just brought home a few of the pieces that I could take off easily. (Like the swim platform inserts, step down platform, etc. Thinking of doing the epoxy and then varnish method. First time messing with Teak, but I am excited to see the change!

Thanks for following along guys!
