Hi everyone -

First time posting on this forum. We have had a 1985 21ft covered-bow Sea Ray in the family since well, 1985. This past weekend while boating through some chop, the hatch that covers the bow anchor compartment flipped back and came loose of its hinges. We were unable to retrieve it from the ocean.

I'm just looking for general advice on where to look for a replacement part, how likely it will be that I actually find one for this year/model, and if no replacement is available, tips on making a new one.

Any input at all is appreciated. (And, if this sort of question might gain more traction on a different forum on this site, let me know and I'll move it).

Do you have a picture of what it used to look like before? I don't think you'll find any spare parts, we got a sundancer 25 from 1988 and couldn't find any parts when refurbished it.

I'll take pictures and measurements next week when I'm back with the boat. The hatch is shaped like home plate, white, fiberglass, and maybe 18-24" wide.

I had a problem with a hatch which weathered to fall apart on a 1973 sea ray weekender. I found a perfect material.
It's known by different trade names two of them being (sea foam and starboard). Prices will vary a lot, check all sources.
I hope this helps you, Leo

Yeah just got a piece on a starboard if you can try and make it look as good as you can

Get a piece of material called starboard. Cut it to the shape that you need it buy a couple of hinges to cover the hole for now until you can find or if you can find what you're looking for
