1980 searay

Hello, I just bought this boat off of my brother inlaw. It has been out of the water for 2yrs. Actually it was winterized then and nothing done since. I know nothing about searays other than i hear they are one of the best boats out there. The boat is either a 22ft weekender or an express cruiser(that is what he title says. How can I tell????? I have no manuals or books or anything on the boat. The trailer has 13in 2 ply car tires on it(what should be on it)????? A bunch of questions and where to begin. Can anyone help?????

Go to Sea Ray's website and match it up to the pictures in their archives.

I *think* SR was doing this in 1980: Look under the HIN for the model designation.

Get rid of the car tires - especially if it's a tandem axle.

There's a whole bunch of threads about people who just bought a boat and are looking for advice - just use that search tool under the big boat at the top of the screen. Set aside an hour or two - you'll be amazed at the info.

Also, look for threads about "what to look for when buying a boat" - in other words "what to look out for/check".

Looks like there were 3 225 models that year, Sundowner, Express Cruiser, and a Cuddy Cruiser.
