congrats on your new boat!

there are a few here that do have some very nice 300's of that vintage. You can also go to www.searay.com and look in the archives. They have brochures from those years, and you can see what they looked like as original.

We need to see pics!

hey thanks for the link, there was a ton of picts to look at and all the old brochure picts were awsome, here's a pict of the boat

Hi all, I had promised 'dockageman' some photos but there are some in this thread already so I thought to post them here. I'm bringing her in the shop this winter to do a major overhaul of the interior but the aft is already well appointed. I particularily like the flip/flop helm seats as sometimes you like to face either direction, plus they offer some good storage space. I changed out the head for the macerator type, nothing getting stuck in the holding tank here. I had to make the table as the original was missing. Carpet and upholstery will be updated along with new icebox and inverter system.
Oh, and my buddy stopped by this weekend with his all original 1948 40' Chris Craft, talk about a tremendous woody! Very nice!!
Enjoy folks...

ahhhh i love the weekender, she's a beut, you've done well on the deck area, cant wait to see what you'll do inside, so what im wondering is if the 300 weekender and the 300 sportbridge are the same deck and cabin, kinda looks like it, we both have 1977's so i dont see why not, i especially like the toilet looks like she can take a load.

Mines a '76... Here's some pics, but haven't updated them since I put in new carpet and some upholstery.... still haven't replaced the monkey fur in the V berth

another thing i just thought of is how tall the flybridge model is? dose anybody have any spec on the very bottom to the top of the flybridge might be? ive gotta transport it from L.A. to Sacramento and there's a lot of bridges between the two. i really hope i dont have to take off the bridge:smt021

I have the original manual for the 300 SRV's, I will look through and see if there is any data.

I've looked and there isn't anything mentioning dimensions. I started trying to scan my manual into one PDF file but haven't figured out the machine yet. The manual covers ALL Sea Ray SRV 300 models from 1977-1979, PM me if you're in need and I'll forward it.

Hello, I am also in Ontario, Canada and I have a couple of questions that you might be able to answer regarding the years 1974 to 1981 30' Sea Ray Weekender ?

1. Is the reason for the fiberglass transom being molded outwards a few inches at about the swim platform level to the downside and about the width of twin inboard/outboard sterndrive units because this hull was originally designed for twin inboard/outboard sterndrive units ???

2. I am considering purchasing a 1974 30' Sea Ray Weekender with twin inboard/outboard sterndrive units, which I may like because this boat can easily be boat-fork-lift-truck lifted and easily stored on the readily available and less costly lower boat racks and also more easily and less costly trailered, however, I was wondering what you and also any other posters on here have to say about the pros and cons and potential problems of this 1974 30' Sea Ray Weekender with twin inboard/outboard sterndrive units ???

Thank you, in advance, for your consideration and time.

With kind regards,

mph

I love my 77 300. The straight inboards are fantastic, performs well and docking is a breeze. With twin 330hp 454s I cruise at 32 and top out at a little over 40mph

Not sure about the transome, but I have a tri axle trailer for mine and it tows beatiful behind a 3/4 ton diesel. I actually just picked up a 76 300 with twin 351s with 146 hours on rebuilds. its very nice, I plan on selling it in the spring.
