Hi all . I'm new to this form , big boats and asking for help. My wife and I purchased this beautiful vessel in June 2014 and love Her. She's powered by 2 351 Fords. only 315 hrs. on starboard engine and runs perfectly. Port engine is locked up from overheating and has water in oil. This engine has only 249 hrs. patchy history on boat and mechanical maintenance . I am a welder and mechanic by trade and am not afraid of anything in this hull, but became physically challenged after I Injured my right hand at work. Simple things become difficult .So working on the boat should be good rehab for me. I did plan on replacing port engine but have been told I could revive engine .Previous owner said it was idled into slip and turned off, it didn't seize at that time. It sat that way to long imo . Engines are fresh water cooled and boat has been in salt water for entire life. She was purchased new in Clearwater Fl where I bought her. New engines in 2007 I think but cooling systems original and need to be refurbished. I believe that's what took out port engine. Bad cooling system and unreliable Temp gauges.Open to any opinions and ideas . Way more right than wrong on this old girl.I can fix anything I get my hands oops correction ,hand on and I am motivated to get her sea worthy again. Here's a pic of our Lions Paw . We'll post more when I can trick my phone into giving pics to my laptop.

Good luck with the repairs. Two weeks ago I purchased a 1988 300 Sundancer with a few bugs to work out too. No engine problems here, except one of the carbs needed a rebuild, and that's been handled, but the Alpha I out drives need some attention.

Hope your hand feels better!!

Lions Paw,
We come from the same back ground. Certified welder/fabricator and heavy equipment mechanic turned corporate technical trainer. My old girl is same years as yours only 10 foot shorter with one 5.0 Ford.

Fresh water kept all her life. Can't help you much with the salty issues but sure wish you the best one the engine. Pull the plugs and see if you have water intrusion from the manifolds.
Keep us posted and welcome aboard.
