1973 240 sea-ray

Cool project you got there. Must be satisfying to get her going again.

What is the length and beam of a Sea Ray 240 from that era? Must be a big boat to contain two V-8 engines.

its 25/1/2' with the bow schiff the beam is about 81/2 the ride of the boat is beautiful great hole shot for a big boat plains fast got the boat in 2009 yes i am happy, will be taking sturgeon fishing this season, it basically a brand new boat rebuilt engines rebuilt out drives new gas tank new helm helm control's all electronics new and updated. I am in love with this boat

Nice work! I would imagine it must clip along pretty good. Do you have any idea what it opens up too? I have a heavier hulled 245 with a single 5.7 and it will just get into the low 40's (mph).

it gets out of the hole fast and i got her to 55 at 3500 rpm i think she needs a re prop but 55 is fast enough and the hole shot is nice but i do not want to run it at high RPM so i think ill re prop it to 18p -21p sure i will get more top end out of her ,i want to get with some people to help brain the re propping,

That sounds impressive. Really have to watch the loads you put on these older drives though when repropping. Was warned on here about my pre alpha and ate it up twice in one season. Went to a bravo and haven't looked back. Nice to see these older boats getting some love.
